Initially, we use the home value estimate you provide as well as the Zillow estimate of your home for your conditional offer. Once the final application process begins, your current home value is determined by an independent, third-party appraiser.
The estate or co-owner will need to honor the terms of the Sum contract. If the spouse of a deceased owner is not on the property title, we will require the spouse to sign an acknowledgment and consent of the contract. A homeowner death will not force the sale of your home or require final repayment.
